Q: What happens during my discovery call?
A: A discovery call is a chance for us to get to know each other and discuss your design goals and vision. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and learn about how we work. If we’re a good fit and if it feels right, we’ll book an in-home consultation at the end of the call.
Q: Where are you located?
A: Great news! All appointments are at your home. We come to you to save you time and energy.
Q: Do I have to take off work in order to work with an interior decorator?
A: Most appointments are during the business day. No one makes great design decisions after a long day at work. We do accommodate busy clients with early appointments as needed.
Q: How does PERFECTED HOME work?
A: Beautiful rooms start with a phone call. Then we provide a complimentary in-home consultation. The project takes off from there!
Q: How can you offer free design services?
A: We operate like a furniture store by selling custom items. The design fees are built in.
Q: What happens on my first appointment?
A: We take a brief tour of your home to get to know a little bit about you. Then we determine what stays and what goes. A budget is established. We measure and take photos of your home the design process begins.
Q: How do I determine a budget for my project?
A: Budgets vary as much as people do! We have a tool that allows us to work with you to determine the budget based on items that will be purchased and surfaces that may need updating. Once a budget is established, we are committed to working with your budget at once or in stages as the project allows.
Q: Is there a minimum or maximum project size?
A: We are happy to help you with any size project, even one lamp if that is all that is needed. Smaller jobs will be determined on the first phone call and may not require the other appointments that are common with full room design.
Q: Will you work with my existing pieces/furnishings that are in the room?
A: Of course! Whether there are family heirlooms or something new you bought last year, we want to incorporate anything that has value to you. We know the interplay of all components is the key to making a room feel whole, including items that are personal to you.
Q: Do you shop with me in other stores?
A: No, we are the furniture store. We specialize in custom furniture that doesn’t look like all your neighbors. If you have a store or a style you love, we know how to help get the look you like often with a better-quality piece than you can find at local stores.
Q: What’s the timeframe to get everything in?
A: From phone call, first appointment, design process, presentation, procurement and installation, it is usually at least 8 weeks for a full room design. If you just need a few items we can move more quickly. Some custom pieces can take longer than 16 weeks. If you have a deadline we need to meet, we will note it at the first appointment and choose from vendors who move quickly.
Q: Is it returnable?
A: No, these are custom furnishings made just for you. We take the time to get to know you and your lifestyle so there should not be anything that needs to be returned.
